I was also able to find several land transactions for Parrsboro. In 1839, Stephen Vickery and Fones Vickery bought out the interests of their siblings in Lot 72 in Diligent River, formerly granted to their late father Jonathan Vickery. Besides Stephen and Fones, the heirs named included John Vickery, Rachel Vickery, Jane Cannon, Mary Ann Vickery, Rebekkah Vickery, and Lavinia Vickery of Parrsboro. Rachel Vickery (1812-1882) lived with her married sister Rebecca in Maccan and they are buried side-by-side in the Michael Fortune Cemetery there. Jane Cannon is Amelia Jane Vickery (1797-1889) who married James Edward Cannon. Mary Ann Vickery is a new name for me: she might be the Sarah Ann Vickery who married Edward Davison. Rebekkah Vickery is my third great grandmother Rebecca Vickery (1818-1903) who married Robert Ripley. Lavinia Vickery is also a new name for me. Rebecca Vickery did name one of her daughters Esther Levina Ripley. See the new The Vickery Family in Parrsboro and Diligent River page on this website.
I also added some photos of my short visit to the Annapolis and Avon Valleys. See the new A Visit to Annapolis and Avon Valley page on this website.
