Cumberland County Cemeteries (Ripley graves)
I have attempted to photograph the graves of Robert Ripley and Isabelle Beane, their children and also for Ripleys in my own direct line. I have included other Ripleys when possible, but my photos are by no means an exhaustive list of all the Ripleys buried in a particular cemetery. The cemetery pages are embedded throughout the website, associated with the descendants buried there but also can be accessed through the buttons below. There are also many cemeteries I haven't explored yet.

My number one piece of advice for visiting the cemeteries is to spray your mosquito repellent on before you get out of the car. Closed shoes, socks, and long pants will also help to keep the bugs at bay.
You are welcome to use my photos for non-profit use provided you give me a photo credit, especially if you're uploading the photos to a different website such as Ancestry. For photos taken earlier than mine by better photographers and showing more detail contact the Cumberland County Genealogical Society. They can email you copies for a small fee.
You can pick up a brochure of Cumberland County Cemeteries at the Cumberland County Genealogical Society. Make note of the directions before you go as the map is not very detailed.
Hill, Susan A.. Some Cumberland County Nova Scotia Cemeteries, 1997. This book is available for purchase through the Cumberland County Genealogical Society. Provides a complete inventory of all the graves in a number of cemeteries and helpful maps of the locations of individual graves. This is an excellent resource and, as Susan assured me, it comes in handy fending off the mosquitoes when you visit the cemeteries.
Keating, Murray L. Cemeteries of Cumberland County: River Philip, Collingwood-Wyvern, Williamsdale, Millvale, Rose. I purchased my copy of this book of cemetery transcriptions at the Cumberland County Genealogical Society. It will be very helpful to descendants of the original Robert Ripley through his son John.
Tizzard, Aubrey M. Where Pioneers Sleep in Oxford. Reverend Tizzard used church records to determine who had been buried in Oxford's Trinity Pioneer Cemetery after the cemetery was unfortunately bulldozed and the stones removed. I have not yet seen a copy of his transcriptions.
