On the way from Moncton to St. Andrews by the Sea I visited the grave of my 4th great grandfather Thomas Coates in Smith's Creek New Brunswick. There are just a few graves in a little area behind the Smith's Creek United Church. I'd known there was a lengthy epitaph written on Thomas's stone but I was still surprised to see it. There are a handful of other graves behind the church and I'll create a page for the cemetery and post those when I return home. In the meantime, here's Thomas's stone and one of the charming covered bridges in the area.
